Fundraising for CJD

Introduction
Many people take part in events both big and small to raise money for the Network. If you are considering taking part in, or organising a fundraising event, please contact the Network to discuss how best to organise your fundraising. To contact us, please click here

On July 11 we had six runners in the 2010 British 10K London Run all raising money for the CJD Support Network.  If you would like to enter a race or another fundraising event please contact the CJD Support Network info@cjdsupport.net

Many fundraisers take part in, or organise much smaller activities (such as coffee mornings) and of course all the money raised is most gratefully received by the Network and used to support patients, carers and families.

We are very grateful to all the fundraisers and sponsors in 2009 who donated a massive £16,000 to the CJD Support Network.  This money will help to fund our 24 hour helpline and ensure that we can continue to offer emotional and practical support to families affected by all strain of CJD.

You can see some recent larger fundraising activities below.

Colin Robinson Memorial Golf Tournament

Golfing day in memory of Colin Robinson

Colin died of CJD in 2009 age 51. He was a keen golfer, as are his family and many of his friends, and so it seemed appropriate to remember Colin by playing the game that he loved.

The Colin Robinson Memorial Golf Tournament  both remembered Colin and raised money for the CJD Support Network.  It was held on Friday 4th June 2010 at Warrington Golf Club.

The event was organised mainly by Colin's brother in law Tim and his wife Anne. The weather was great and attracted over 50 golfers. After the golf 100 people sat down to a lovely meal in the club house when the prizes were awarded to the winners.
